Yesterday was a very special day to the Art and Spirituality Institute of Santa Cecilia of Montserrat. The expected visit of Sean Scully filled the church. Scully told us about the deep sense that he gives to his paintings, his vocation as a "worker" and the simplicity to try to reach the soul of everyone, and insisted on his idea of seeking the union of people and religions as the only way to achieve a future of peace and prosperity. The artist was able to answer questions from the audience and later shared with everyone a small snack in the old refectory of the monastery. Sean Scully's visit has been doubly fruitful as he has added two new frescoes to the artistic intervention in Santa Cecilia. One of them, it’s in the only arch that was left naked, to give more balance to the whole chapel. The other one had to be redone due to technical problems. Thanks, Sean, and see you soon!
