The director of the Museum of Montserrat, Josep de C. Laplana, commented some poems by St. John of the Cross last Friday, February 10, in the program of the Sean Scully Art and Spirituality Institute in Santa Cecilia de Montserrat. This was the second session on St. John of the Cross offered by Fr. Laplana. Last year he lectured on Mysticism and Eros in the Spiritual Canticle. This year he dealt with La noche oscura (The dark night) and the mystical experience of St. John of the Cross based on four poems: La noche oscura, La llama de amor viva, Aunque es de noche y Toda ciencia trascendiendo. Jordi-Xavier Romero exercised magnificently of rapsoda next to the speaker. The church was full of public, almost sixty people. The poetic session was intense, deep and nourishing.
