Pianist Roger Illa performed The Seven Words of Christ on the Cross, a piece by Joseph Haydn (1785) composed as an order from the Cathedral of Cádiz for Holy Friday. The performance was masterful, delicate and close, with an original instrument of the time, a table pianoforte Érard & Frères of 1805. The dialogue between the musicologist Jordi Clapés and Roger Illa that preceded the concert briefly exposed the main musical characteristics of the work and its context.
