Roger Padullés, trained at the Escolania (children choir of Montserrat), proved that he is one of the best tenors in Catalonia. Superbly accompanied by Dani Espasa to the harpsichord and the positive pipe organ, the singer offered a repertoire of Händel’s arias. The show, entitled Total Eclipse, has blindness as a common thread (Marta Escobar did the speaking) and ends with the stage in the dark, as a symbol that Händel lost his sight at the end of his life. The interpreters selected the pieces according to the text sung in them, the moment they were composed by Händel and also according to purely personal criteria of attraction towards touching melodies. An excellent musical afternoon.
