St Matthew Passion BWV 244 (1727) is not just another work in the huge catalog of pieces by J. S. Bach (1685-1750). It has become the reference of this catalog since the piece was recovered by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847), on March 11, 1829 at the Sing-Akademie in Berlin, each audition is not only the corroboration of the genius but a way to go into theological issues that, undoubtedly, Bach took much into account. Within the Inspiration / Divinity series, we approach this sublime work trying to extract some of its keys, which lead us to the great task of Bach with the composition of his work: bringing God closer to men.
